Waverly and Okemos are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Warriors will take on the Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Waverly nor Okemos posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Dansville hit Waverly with a 13-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors lost 19-1 to the Aggies.

Waverly saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marisela Guevara, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Okemos fell victim to Grand Ledge and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Comets, falling 16-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost five in a row.

Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Okemos, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Waverly took their victory against Okemos in their previous meeting back in April of 2018 by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
