Westville and Washington Township are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Blackhawks will face off against the Senators at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Westville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Tri-Township 20-3. The Blackhawks have beaten the Tigers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.
Miranda Sparks and Kierstin Vargas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Sparks tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Meanwhile, Vargas tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. At bat, Sparks went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Vargas fired off two home runs, five RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Those four RBI gave Sparks a new career-high.
