Softball Recap: Ramona Convent Takes a Loss

Ramona Convent was the 11-7 winner over Alhambra when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Ramona Convent fell just short of Alhambra by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ramona Convent got a big performance out of Aiden Velazquez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Abigail Vazquez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Ramona Convent's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Alhambra, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Ramona Convent Tigers duke it out with Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Conaty-Loretto has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.55 runs per game on average), something Ramona Convent will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Alhambra, they are taking a road trip to take on Montebello at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alhambra is facing Montebello at the right time seeing as Montebello is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
