Softball Recap: Kennard-Dale Extends Road Winning Streak to Eight

Kennard-Dale entered their tilt with West York Area on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 17-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-2 on April 2nd.

Taryn Ashenfelter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kennard-Dale let Addie Argiro and Elaina Zabkowski run wild. Argiro went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Zabkowski went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Zabkowski has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maddie Argiro, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Kennard-Dale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Kennard-Dale pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for West York Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
