Preview: Calhoun Tigers vs. Luverne Tigers
After three games on the road, Calhoun is heading back home. They will take on the Luverne Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Calhoun didn't have too much trouble with Central on the road as they won 35-19.
Calhoun can attribute much of their success to Kamelia Hunter, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hunter has scored all season. Layla Gary was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Luverne waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They breezed by Highland Home at home to the tune of 55-20. Luverne has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.
Calhoun pushed their record up to 8-10 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Luverne, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season.
