Baseball Game Preview: Skyline Falcons vs. Silver Creek Raptors

The Skyline Falcons will be playing at home against the Silver Creek Raptors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Skyline nor Silver Creek posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Skyline came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-1 to Legacy.

Skyline saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Lanier, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Bobby Knapp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Silver Creek's offense. They fell 5-0 to Fairview on Tuesday. The match marked the first time this year in which the Raptors were not able to get on the board.

Noah Richardson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

Skyline has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Silver Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Skyline came out on top in a nail-biter against Silver Creek in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, sneaking past 11-10. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raptors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
