Recap: Creekside Christian Academy Cougars vs. Konos Academy
The Creekside Christian Academy Cougars posted their biggest win since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Konos Academy 75-40 on the road. Given Creekside Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Konos Academy is ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Skye Hunter, who scored 31 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Creekside Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Laila Placide, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and six blocks.
Creekside Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Konos Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
Creekside Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Calvary Christian at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Calvary Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Friday. As for Konos Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Praise Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Praise Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
