Softball Recap: Edison Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Edison, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Sanger West Hornets on Wednesday. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Alexis Verduzco made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. Verduzco was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Lauren Jones was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Neveah Palomero also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Edison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Edison's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.7 runs. As for Sanger West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11-2 record this season.

Edison didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-1 defeat against Madera on the 25th. As for Sanger West, they have also already played their next game, a 12-0 win against Justin Garza on the 25th.
