Soccer Game Preview: Warren vs. Paramount

The Warren Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Paramount Pirates at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

If Warren beats Paramount with two goals on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Warren had just enough and edged Bellflower out 2-1.

Meanwhile, Paramount kept a clean sheet against Bellflower on Tuesday. They blew past the Buccaneers 3-0. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 432nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Paramount pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Warren, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5-2 record this season.

Warren skirted past Paramount 2-1 in their previous matchup on January 2nd. The rematch might be a little tougher for Warren since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
