Baseball Recap: Hartshorne Miners vs. Cameron Yellow Jackets
Hartshorne had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-14 to make it six. They fell 7-3 to the Cameron Yellow Jackets. The Miners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2015.
Brodie Eddy was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
As for Cameron, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.
On Cameron's side, they got a massive performance out of Canan Sims, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Sims has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jax Adcock, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.
Coming up, Hartshorne will challenge Tushka at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cameron does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
