Football Recap: Garretson Falls Despite Big Games from Colton Buchholz and Jackson Arend

Garretson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The matchup between the Blue Dragons and the Howard Tigers didn't end well, with the Blue Dragons falling 42-27. The Blue Dragons lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 54-8 score last time.

Jackson Arend and Colton Buchholz certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Arend picked up 176 receiving yards and four scores, while Buchholz threw for 242 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt. Arend was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 67 yards.

Garretson's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Howard, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
