Basketball Recap: Eagle Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Eagle, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Vallivue Falcons by a score of 64-55 on Tuesday. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 55-51 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2021.

Vallivue's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Xander Wilson, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds, and Dominik Betancourt, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points and three steals. Those 18 points gave Wilson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Moore, who posted six points.

Eagle's record is now 3-1. As for Vallivue, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Eagle will square off against Baker at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Baker's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Vallivue, they will host Wood River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vallivue knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Wood River likes a good challenge.
