Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends Chickasha's Winning Streak

Chickasha lost against Harrah back in March of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Chickasha Fighting Chicks fell 44-35 to the Harrah Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Chicks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Panthers are ranked 46th).

Ashley Hamm was the offensive standout of the game as she went 6 for 8 en route to 14 points and six steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Brooke Robb was another key player, putting up five points in addition to seven steals and five assists.

The loss snapped Chickasha's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-6 record. As for Harrah, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Chickasha has already played their next match, a 54-34 win against Clinton on the 17th. As for Harrah, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-40 victory against McLoud on the 17th.
