Football Game Preview: Jefferson Democrats vs. Grant Generals

Jefferson is 2-7 against Grant since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Democrats will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against the Generals at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Jefferson blew McDaniel out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday McDaniel got their revenge. The Democrats fell just short of the Mountain Lions by a score of 15-12. While the Democrats had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Mountain Lions 6-0.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Grant's offense. They took a blow against Jesuit on Friday, falling 36-0. The Generals haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Jefferson was able to grind out a solid victory over Grant in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 28-19. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Generals' Marcus Rouse Jr., who rushed for 221 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Democrats to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
