Volleyball Recap: Southwick Regional Takes a Loss

Southwick Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Smith Vo-Tech Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-15, 22-25, 25-18, 25-19.

Gabriela Victor paced Southwick Regional's offense, picking up six kills. Victor got some help from Sophia Viktorchuk and her six assists. Victor was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Southwick Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Smith Vo-Tech, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Coming up, Southwick Regional will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pittsfield at 5:15 p.m. As for Smith Vo-Tech, they will head out to face off against Pope Francis Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
