Softball Recap: Tri-West Hendricks' Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Tri-West Hendricks dropped their record down to 15-12 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 9-6 to the Center Grove Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Emma Charles was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Averi Lance was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

As for Center Grove, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games.

On Center Grove's side, they let Ana Powell and Kiersten Hardin run wild. Powell went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Hardin went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Hardin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Wolff, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Tri-West Hendricks and Center Grove should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Bruins will take on Pike at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (148 vs. 346). Meanwhile, Center Grove (ranked second) will meet Mt. Vernon (ranked 160th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
