Recap: Floyd Central Highlanders vs. Seymour Owls
The Floyd Central Highlanders were the 68-56 winner over the Seymour Owls when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Floyd Central ended up on the wrong side of a tough 49-28 walloping at the hands of Seymour on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Floyd Central has scored all season.
Landon Reed and Tristan Robertson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Reed scored 12 points, while Robertson scored five points.
Floyd Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Seymour, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Floyd Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Evansville Reitz at 8:00 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Evansville Reitz focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Seymour, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Madison is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
