Basketball Recap: Marist Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Boston Frey and Macoy Harbert

Marist was the 44-29 winner over Philomath when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell 49-38 to the Warriors on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Marist had strong showings from Macoy Harbert, who posted ten points, and Boston Frey, who put up ten points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Philomath's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Peters, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaden Howard, who earned six points.

Marist's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Philomath, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Marist will look to defend their home court on Friday against Crescent Valley at 7:00 p.m. Philomath has already played their next game (against West Albany), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
