It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lakeland Preparatory had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They never let the Fairley Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 22-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their 17th in a row.

Peeler Emerson was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Lindsey, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Lakeland Preparatory hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive matchups.

Lakeland Preparatory's victory was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Fairley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Lakeland Preparatory does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairley, they will square off against Westview on Wednesday. The Chargers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
