Basketball Recap: Hardin-Central Comes Up Short

Hardin-Central lost against Wellington-Napoleon back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hardin-Central Bulldogs lost 53-30 to the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Among those leading the charge was Brody Best, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. He also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Wellington-Napoleon is 4-2 when he posts at least three steals, but 1-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jared Raymond, who posted seven points and five boards.

Hardin-Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Wellington-Napoleon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-13.

Hardin-Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Fe at 7:15 p.m. on February 18th. As for Wellington-Napoleon, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Paul Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
