Baseball Recap: Millbrook Wins Going Away Against Knightdale

Millbrook barely beat Knightdale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Knights on Thursday. Considering the Wildcats have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Connor Wright made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wright was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Jack Strom was incredible, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to triples, as he's now hit at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jason Mann also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Millbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Millbrook is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Knightdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
