Baseball Recap: Rio Grande City Rattlers vs. Martin Tigers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palmview, Rio Grande City was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Martin Tigers, sneaking past 4-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Evan Marroquin made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Rio Grande City is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Marroquin was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024.
