Basketball Recap: Midwest Central Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home + How To Watch

Midwest Central dropped to 3-4 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They came up short against the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs, falling 59-39. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 75-44 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Midwest Central still got an impressive performance from Malachi Carroll, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Blake Molitor, who earned six points.

As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 57.0 points this season.

Jerry Hahn went supernova, dropping a double-double with 36 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaun Denniston, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Midwest Central and Illini Central will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they will venture away from home to square off against LeRoy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Chiefs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
