Softball Recap: River Valley Raiders vs. Meigs Marauders

River Valley had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it eight. They lost 7-1 to the Meigs Marauders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 4-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Meigs, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

For Meigs' part, Natalie Goode made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched.
