Baseball Recap: King City Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

King City put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let the Marina Mariners get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-0 last Tuesday.

Joey Pina made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Pina was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. King City is undefeated when Pina posts two or more runs, but 1-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on JC Navarro, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for King City: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Espinoza, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

King City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marina only posted an OBP of .077.

King City's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-10. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Marina, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.
