Lake Stevens typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Skyline proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Abby Haapala spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
