Softball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

After flying high against Andress on Friday, Jefferson came back down to earth. The Jefferson Silver Foxes came up short against the Ysleta Indians on Saturday, falling 20-5. The Silver Foxes haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Elizabella Qui?onez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Helen Osornio, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Ysleta, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-1.

Coincidentally, Jefferson and Ysleta will both be playing Bel Air the next time they take the field. Ysleta will head out to face Bel Air at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Jefferson will play them later in the day, at TBD.
