Football Recap: Ripley Vikings vs. Roane County Raiders
Ripley and Roane County met for a duel on Friday where Ripley couldn't get it done. The Ripley Vikings were beaten by the Roane County Raiders 43-7. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-0.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Lane Watson and Shay Harper. Watson rushed for 140 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries while Harper rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. The dominant performance gave Harper a new career-high in rushing yards.
Ripley's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Roane County, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
As of now, neither Ripley nor Roane County have any future games scheduled.
