Recap: Lewiston Bengals vs. Sandpoint Bulldogs
The Lewiston Bengals lost against the Sandpoint Bulldogs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Lewiston took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sandpoint. Lewiston has not had much luck with Sandpoint recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Lewiston lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Breanna Albright, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Albright has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy McKarcher, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Sandpoint's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brecken Mire, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Karlie Banks, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Lewiston's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Sandpoint, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewiston will take on Post Falls at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Post Falls is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Sandpoint, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake City has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 606 points over their last nine matchups.
