Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lincoln

Lincoln entered their tilt with Christopher on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 17-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-2 back in March.

Carina Reuterskiold made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lincoln got a massive performance out of Keona Perez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Perez has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Serenity Hernandez, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.

Lincoln's record now sits at 13-7. As for Christopher, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lincoln is set to square off against their familiar foe Pioneer at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Christopher will face off against rival Oak Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
