Basketball Recap: Winfield's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Winfield won the last time they faced Veritas Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Winfield Warriors snuck past the Veritas Christian Academy Eagles with a 48-44 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Veritas Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lusajo Kasyupa, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jake Markham, who posted 14 points.

The win got Winfield back to even at 4-4. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they moved to 7-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Winfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Wright City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Veritas Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, a 73-61 victory against Crystal City on the 15th.
