Baseball Game Preview: Carlsbad Lancers vs. Argyle Eagles

The Carlsbad Lancers are taking a road trip to face off against the Argyle Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carlsbad will be strutting in after a victory while Argyle will be coming in after a defeat.

Carlsbad proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past McKinney Boyd 7-6.

Hunter Dawson looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ayden Mu?oz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Blake Snow, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Argyle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 6-2 to Magnolia Heights.

Noah Satine was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched.

At the plate, Argyle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Casselberry, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. That run marked the first that Casselberry scored this season.

Argyle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Carlsbad, their record now sits at 2-0.
