Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kelly Gonzalez and Kathie Chora Lead Brio College Prep to Victory

The Brio College Prep Olympians were able to grind out a solid victory over the USC Hybrid Trojans on Thursday, taking the game 3-1.

While Brio College Prep might've won, it sure wasn't easy: USC Hybrid scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21.

Brio College Prep was led to victory by Kathie Chora and Kelly Gonzalez. Chora had nine aces, eight kills, and two blocks, while Gonzalez had eight aces.

They weren't the only good server: Brio College Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 25 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as USC Hybrid only served eight aces.

Marsela Leiva and Sarah Tovar certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Leiva had seven digs and four aces, while Tovar had ten kills and two blocks.

Brio College Prep's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for USC Hybrid, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Brio College Prep will head out to challenge Alliance Ouchi at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for USC Hybrid, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Neuwirth Leadership Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
