Basketball Recap: Cupertino Takes a Loss

Cupertino lost against Fremont back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cupertino Pioneers took a hard 62-43 fall against the Fremont Firebirds. The Pioneers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Cupertino still got an impressive performance from Ivan Shen, who went 7-for-14 en route to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Shen a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Houma Yoshimochi, who posted 11 points.

Cupertino's record now sits at 6-17. As for Fremont, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.

Looking ahead, Cupertino will host Santa Clara at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cupertino is facing Santa Clara at the right time seeing as Santa Clara is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Fremont, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lynbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
