Basketball Recap: Greenwood's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Seminole, Greenwood was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Monahans Loboes 36-20. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Loboes are ranked 1078th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greenwood pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.3 points per game. As for Monahans, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season.

Greenwood will challenge Pecos at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monahans, they will square off against Seminole at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
