Recap: Covenant Christian Cougars vs. O'Connell Buccaneers
The Covenant Christian Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season. They breezed by O'Connell on the road to the tune of 54-4. The victory was some much needed relief for Covenant Christian as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Keeley Chaddick, who scored 14 points along with six steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alani Owens, who scored nine points.
Covenant Christian now has a winning record of 12-11. As for O'Connell, their loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9.
Covenant Christian will take on Legacy Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Legacy Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1337th, while Covenant Christian is ranked 570th). As for O'Connell, they will head out on the road to face off against Allen Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Allen Academy is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
