Volleyball Recap: Grace Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Peotone Blue Devils
Grace Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Peotone Blue Devils by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While the Crusaders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blue Devils 25-20 in the first set.
Grace Christian Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-19, 25-19.
Peotone found their leader in sophomore Ella Stupegia, who had 14 digs and three assists.
Coming up, Grace Christian Academy is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Bishop McNamara at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Peotone, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Seneca on the 27th.
