Baseball Recap: Old Town Wins Going Away Against Presque Isle

While Old Town put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Presque Isle. The Coyotes came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 8-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Coyotes this season.

Tyler Priest made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Old Town is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise. Priest was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alex McCannell was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Nate Baker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

Old Town hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Presque Isle struck out nine times.

Old Town now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Presque Isle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Old Town will have a chance to go back-to-back against Presque Isle: the pair will be back at it again later today.
