Softball Recap: Abbott Comes Up Short

Abbott lost against Axtell last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Abbott came up short against Axtell, falling 7-1. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kylee Nors made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

This is the second loss in a row for Abbott and nudges their season record down to 7-4. As for Axtell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Abbott will venture away from home to square off against Riesel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riesel will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Abbott surely won't give up without a fight. As for Axtell, they are taking a road trip to face off against Mart at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
