Basketball Game Preview: Baxter Springs Lions vs. Columbus Titans

Baxter Springs hasn't had much luck against Columbus recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Baxter Springs Lions will welcome the Columbus Titans. Baxter Springs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Baxter Springs had to suffer through a 70-32 loss at the hands of Frontenac.

Meanwhile, Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Girard, falling 48-24. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Trojans are ranked 58th).

Loss or not, Columbus got some senior leadership from Katy Mooney and Brylie Johnson. Mooney posted 12 points, while Johnson put up ten points. That was a full 50% of Columbus' points, marking the fourth time in a row Mooney has had more than a third of the team's points.

Baxter Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
