Basketball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Apex Friendship's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Apex Friendship unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 67-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cary Imps. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Imps apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cary to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jonathan Peery, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stone Holcombe, who posted 15 points and six rebounds.

Apex Friendship's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Cary, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Apex Friendship will host Green Level at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Apex Friendship is on a four-game streak of home wins, Green Level a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Cary, they will head out on the road to square off against Green Hope at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Hope is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season.
