Baseball Recap: Tri Titans vs. Knightstown Panthers

Tri extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-17-1 in the process. They lost 17-2 to the Knightstown Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 two weeks ago.

As for Knightstown, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-3. Considering they have won 15 contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Knightstown's part, Carter Gossett looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Gossett has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

As for Knightstown, they will square off against Southwestern at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
