Fairview is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Broomfield Eagles at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Fairview barely beat Loveland the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Fairview blew past Loveland 12-2 on Saturday.
Jacob Jaramillo looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Wier, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in triples. Leo Muth was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Broomfield won against Mullen on Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Broomfield put the hurt on Douglas County with a sharp 8-1 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Ethan Zufall tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Caden Williamson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brendan Fritch, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Broomfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas County only managed five hits.
Broomfield pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Fairview, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Fairview came up short against Broomfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 5-2. Can Fairview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
