Basketball Recap: Auburndale Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Auburndale hadn't done well against Sebring recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Auburndale Bloodhounds came out on top against the Sebring Blue Streaks by a score of 37-29. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bloodhounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Auburndale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makyla Jones, who went 6 for 8 en route to 12 points. Jones has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Aleecia Pollard was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Despite the loss, Sebring saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Molly Jane Zwayer dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Auburndale pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Sebring, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Auburndale has already played their next contest, a 40-27 victory against Ridgeview Global Studies Academy on the 27th. As for Sebring, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 0-0 win against Lake Placid on the 24th.
