Baseball Recap: Powell Find Success

Powell's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Girard Indians.

Carter Lancaster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jameson Bess was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Periclis Davila also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Powell's victory bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Girard, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Powell will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair will be back at it again later today.
