Basketball Recap: Las Animas Comes Up Short

Las Animas played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 63-28 loss at the hands of the Limon Badgers. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Drey Tacha had an outrageously good game for Limon as he went 9 for 14 on his way to 19 points and five steals. Tacha is becoming a predictor of Limon's success: when he posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 2-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Aiden Kollath, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Las Animas has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Limon, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Las Animas has already played their next contest, a 56-54 defeat against Swink on the 1st. As for Limon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-10 victory against Deer Trail on the 1st.
