Basketball Game Preview: St. Andrew's Lions vs. Frederica Academy

St. Andrew is 2-8 against Frederica Academy since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The St. Andrew's Lions will head out to take on Frederica Academy at 6:00 p.m.

St. Andrew's is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of Hilton Head Island by a score of 26-24. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 404th in Georgia, while the Seahawks are ranked 154th in South Carolina).

Meanwhile, Frederica Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 63-30 win over Bulloch Academy. Frederica Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Frederica Academy pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points per game. As for St. Andrew's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

St. Andrew's ended up a good deal behind Frederica Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, losing 31-17. Can St. Andrew's avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
