Baseball Recap: Breathitt County Bobcats vs. East Carter Raiders
Breathitt County came out on top against East Carter on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Bobcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Raiders.
Sebastian Howard was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Adam Spencer was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Tatum Moore was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Breathitt County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for East Carter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.
Looking ahead, Breathitt County will head out to face off against Leslie County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Carter, they will square off against Russell at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
