Four-star defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis of Neville (Monroe, La.) announced his college commitment to Alabama on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4, 287-pound beast is regarded as the seventh-rated defensive tackle and No. 99 overall prospect by 247Sports. He picked the Crimson Tide over LSU and TCU.

Mathis notched 41 tackles, seven sacks and five tackles for loss in leading the Tigers to the Louisiana Class 4A state title game.
