While Elk Lake's win against Wyoming Area wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Elk Lake sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Wyoming Area on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but Elk Lake sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Elk Lake's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wyoming Area, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elk Lake will head out to square off against Blue Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wyoming Area, they will venture away from home to face off against Hanover Area at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawkeyes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.5 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
